The thinking in SPORTING LIFE is slightly damaged. Loosely concerned with the idea of the poet as a failed receptacle for cultural transmissions, these poems telegraph and recast popular ideas as a lived-in language, in search of a vocabulary to reconcile personal narrative with the transactional nature of everyday life.
